Japan–Indonesia Joint Call for Proposals on 'Bioenergy' (The 2nd Call)

This is the second call for proposals under the Japan–Indonesia Joint Call for Proposals, specifically supporting international collaborative research in the field of 'Bioenergy' between researchers in Japan and Indonesia. Japanese applicants may optionally include researchers' capacity building for Indonesian early-career researchers aiming for a doctoral degree. The call is jointly run by JST and BRIN, with a submission deadline of July 22, 2026.

Hvem kan ansøge

Indonesian researchers must be Indonesian citizens, hold at least a master's degree with active doctoral enrolment (proven by DBR Decree or Study Permit Certificate), and be affiliated with an eligible Indonesian research entity (BRIN or other legally registered institution registered in SEBARIS). Japanese-side eligibility is managed separately by JST.

Kvalifikationskriterier

An Indonesian research entity such as: National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN); Other Indonesian research institution with appropriate legal registration for example universities, industry, and/or private community/organization and other research institutions legally registered in Indonesia, excluding BRIN, must register with the Sistem Informasi Registrasi Lembaga Riset (SEBARIS) and comply with its requirement to meet the required administrative and legal obligations
The Principal Investigator (PI) must be an Indonesian citizen
The PI must hold at least a Master degree (S2) with active enrolment in a Doctoral degree (S3) program proven by a DBR Decree or Study Permit Certificate
Japanese-side eligibility: A joint call for collaborative research projects is scheduled as outlined below; Japanese applicants may choose whether or not to include researchers' capacity building
Teams must have PIs from both Japan and Indonesia
