The European Capital of Innovation Awards (iCapital) recognise cities that demonstrate excellence in innovation ecosystems, governance practices, and citizen involvement. The Rising Innovator category targets towns and cities with a population between 50,000 and 249,999 inhabitants. The winning city receives EUR 500,000, with two runners-up receiving EUR 50,000 each.
