Mathematical Sciences Early Independence Fellowship

Apply for an early independence fellowship to support your career transition within the Fellowship investment framework. Most of your project’s research novelty must be in EPSRC’s mathematical sciences remit. Projects are for up to five years and may be held part-time.

Wer kann sich bewerben

Applicants must have a PhD and postdoctoral experience, plans for establishing independence, and be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding. Not eligible are established academics or those who have held a position directing research vision for more than 12 months.

Eignungskriterien

Must have completed a PhD with additional postdoctoral experience or equivalent
Must show early evidence of capability to be a leading and active researcher
Must show evidence of relevant skills, experience, career development and productivity across past appointments
Must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding
Not eligible if an established academic (directed research vision and supervised postdoctoral staff for more than 12 months)
Not eligible if have another UKRI fellowship of this type or EPSRC new investigator award being assessed
Not eligible if have been awarded a comparable fellowship supporting early independence or a new investigator award from any organisation
Not eligible if have secured grants as a project lead including support for research staff (excluding Mathematical Sciences Small Grants)
