Alliance Quantum Grants

NSERC - Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada

Alliance Quantum Grants support university-led projects partnering with private, public, or not-for-profit sectors to advance the development and adoption of quantum technologies in Canada. Projects must align with National Quantum Strategy (NQS) missions in quantum algorithms/encryption, communications, computing, materials, or sensing. NSERC covers 100% of eligible costs for approved projects.

Eligibility criteria

University researchers eligible to receive NSERC funds may apply as primary applicants
Co-applicants may include other eligible academic researchers, college faculty, or adjunct professors (including those based in industry/government/non-profit)
Projects must involve at least one partner organization (private, public, or not-for-profit) capable of exploiting research results
Partners must provide in-kind support and play an active, documented role in the research or knowledge mobilization
Applications involving private-sector partners must include a National Security Guidelines for Research Partnerships Risk Assessment form
Since this program focuses on quantum science, applicants must address Sensitive Technology Research Areas and include required STRAC attestation form(s)
