
Carl-Zeiss-Humboldt Research Award
The Carl-Zeiss-Humboldt Research Award recognises internationally outstanding STEM researchers whose fundamental discoveries have had a lasting impact on their discipline. Funded jointly by the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, it awards 100,000 EUR plus up to 50,000 EUR in additional collaboration funding for academic conferences, scientific equipment, inclusion of junior researchers, or childcare expenses. Recipients conduct a research stay of up to 12 months in Germany, collaborating with specialist colleagues at institutions in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, or Thuringia. Nominations are submitted by established researchers at German institutions.
Who can apply
