Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for residential landlords

This grant provides landlords with support towards the cost of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle chargepoints at residential properties. Applicants can get 75% off the cost up to a maximum of £500 per socket, for up to 200 sockets per year. The property must be located in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Who can apply

Residential landlords (including RTM companies, freeholders, public sector organisations, charities, registered social housing providers, and property management companies) registered at Companies House or VAT registered, with eligible electric vehicles and private off-street parking in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Eligibility criteria

You must own and live in a flat, or rent and live in any residential property (including properties under the shared ownership scheme)
You must own an eligible electric vehicle from the OZEV-approved list
Your home must have its own private off-street parking space
The property must be located in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland (not eligible in Channel Islands or Isle of Man)
You are only eligible for one grant
Vehicle leases must state chargepoint ownership, itemise costs, ensure warranty meets requirements, and lease for at least 6 months
Individuals can be: registered keeper, assigned company car, lease an eligible vehicle, named primary user, or have ordered a vehicle received within 3 months
You or the organisation you represent are a residential landlord if you own or manage a property that is let for people to live in (e.g., a flat, block of flats, or communal spaces of a multi-unit property).
