Postdoc: AAV capsid engineering with generative AI
This project aims to develop and deploy generative models in protein design to improve AAV manufacturing properties for gene therapy. The goal is to address clinical limitations such as sub-optimal tissue tropism and low manufacturing yields. This is a 2-year fully funded fellowship as part of the BEST (Bio-Engineering Systems for Therapeutics) programme between ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) and Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED).
Who can apply
PhD holders in computational biology, bioinformatics, bio-ML or related quantitative fields with hands-on experience in generative models for protein design and willingness to work between ETH Zurich and Roche.Perks & benefits
- Access to integrated research resources and specialized facilities (Single Cell and Lab Automation units)
- Structured networking through "Next-Gen Lunch and Learn" seminar series
- Annual scientific retreats
- Collaboration between academic labs and industry (Roche pRED)
- Professional development in translational bioengineering
