EIC Pathfinder Challenge: Advanced Materials for Miniaturised Energy Harvesting Systems 2026

The EIC Pathfinder Challenge 2026 on Advanced Materials for Miniaturised Energy Harvesting Systems supports the development of innovative advanced materials for miniaturised energy harvesting modules (solar, thermoelectric, piezoelectric, nanotribological) to enable energetically autonomous systems for IoT, wireless sensors, point-of-care diagnostics, and smart cities. Projects must reach TRL 4 (laboratory benchmarking), demonstrate significant efficiency improvements over the state of the art, and use AI/digital tools for material identification and design. The selected portfolio will follow a strategic plan including common roadmaps, benchmarking, and shared scientific knowledge. Total budget for Pathfinder Programme 2026: €262 million. UK applicants are eligible as single entities or in small consortia.
