Knowledge and Innovation Programme

The Knowledge and Innovation Programme (KIP) facilitates collaborative learning and innovation through joint networks between African and Danish universities. It supports skills development for students from both regions to address shared global challenges, including curriculum development, blended learning, summer schools, joint courses/degrees, and staff exchanges. Note: Research activities are explicitly excluded.

Quién puede solicitar

Open to partnerships between Danish universities (as main applicants) and African universities (at least two required). Maximum four primary partners. Research activities and PhD programmes are excluded. Individual students cannot apply directly.

Criterios de elegibilidad

Partnerships must consist of Danish universities (including Ilisimatusarfik and University of the Faroe Islands) and African universities located in countries hosting a Danish embassy
Maximum four primary partners, at least two of which must be African universities
Three South African institutions (University of Cape Town, University of the Witwatersrand, and Stellenbosch University) are ineligible as primary partners due to high international rankings
Research-focused Danish 'Professionshøjskoler' and private entities are restricted to secondary partner status
PhD programs and courses are not eligible for funding
Only Danish universities may apply for seed funding
Individuals cannot apply directly - scholarships must be part of a university partnership application
Students must be affiliated with an African partner university for scholarship components
