US-Ireland R&D Partnership Programme (Centre-to-Centre Mechanism)

The US-Ireland R&D Partnership Programme (Centre-to-Centre Mechanism) is a trilateral funding initiative linking SFI-funded Research Centres with NSF-funded Engineering Research Centres and counterparts in Northern Ireland. The programme facilitates large-scale international collaborative research between established research centres across the USA, Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland. Projects must include at least one lead academic/research centre from each of the three jurisdictions, with significant research participation required from all three. Evaluation is conducted by the US funding agency (NSF) using standard merit criteria. Each agency funds only the research costs incurred within its own jurisdiction.
