British Ecological Society: Connecting ecologists with other disciplines grants

This grant supports ecologists in undertaking a secondment (up to 12 months) in a different discipline or sector, such as another academic field, NGO, public sector organisation, or business. The goal is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, develop skills, and build relationships between ecology and other fields. Grants are awarded up to £20k to individuals who are BES members.

Open to PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, early career ecologists, established researchers, or employees of other organisations (e.g. government agencies) who have employer/supervisor approval and a willing host organisation. Undergraduates and masters students are not eligible. Must have BES membership.

Applicants must be PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, early career ecologists, established researchers, or employees of other organisations (e.g. government agencies).
Undergraduates and masters students are not eligible.
Must have BES membership.
Applicants must have employer/supervisor approval to step out of current activities during the placement period.
Applicants must have a willing host organisation/department that will collaborate on the application.
These grants are awarded to individuals, not organisations.
Placements must be in a distinctly different sector compared to the applicant's current one.
Placements can be full-time or part-time, up to 12 months long.
