The Commonwealth Foundation Annual Open Grants Call provides funding up to £60,000 to civil society organisations in Commonwealth member countries for projects addressing Health Justice, Freedom of Expression, or Climate Justice. All applications must demonstrate how gender considerations are integrated into project design, and projects must facilitate constructive engagement between civil society and government decision-makers on policy. The current call is closed; the next open call is scheduled for September 2026.

Qui peut postuler

Open to civil society organisations (CSOs) based in Commonwealth member countries. Partnerships are encouraged, but only the lead applicant must meet core eligibility criteria. Youth-led organisations and CSOs based in small or vulnerable Commonwealth member states are strongly encouraged to apply.

Critères d'éligibilité

Must be a non-profit civil society organisation (CSO) registered and operating for at least 3 years in a Commonwealth Foundation member country
Annual income must average under £2.5m over the last two years
Grant request cannot exceed 70% of the average annual income
Current grantees without final payments are ineligible
Only the lead applicant must meet core eligibility criteria; partnerships with informal groups, social movements, or individual advocates are encouraged
All applicants must demonstrate how gender considerations are integrated into project design and implementation
