UKRI Policy Fellowships 2026: Embedding Researchers in Government

UK Research and Innovation offers 50 embedded fellowship positions across 26 UK government host partners for 18 months, placing researchers inside policy teams to address live evidence needs. The scheme includes three funding strands with full economic cost ceilings up to £280,000, funded at 80% by UKRI and 20% by the employing research organisation.

Critères d'éligibilité

Applicants must be researchers based at a UK university or research organisation eligible for UKRI funding.
Applicants must hold a PhD or have equivalent research experience.
Applicants must have relevant research expertise related to one of the funded policy areas.
Hold a doctorate or equivalent research experience
Be based at a UKRI-eligible research organisation
Demonstrate subject-matter expertise relevant to a specific fellowship position
Not have already undertaken or be currently undertaking a UKRI policy fellowship
Pass any security, nationality and clearance checks required by the host partner
