NSERC-National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan (NSTC) call for proposals on semiconductors and artificial intelligence

A joint initiative between NSERC and Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) to develop innovative solutions at the intersection of semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Canadian and Taiwanese academic researchers must collaborate, with each funder supporting their respective national teams. Four awards are expected.

Open to Canadian and Taiwanese academic research teams consisting of a Canadian Principal Investigator (PI) partnered with a Taiwanese PI. Industry and non-profit partners are excluded. Only one application per researcher as PI or co-applicant.

Kvalifikasjonskriterier

Canadian university researchers eligible for NSERC funding must partner with Taiwan-based academic researchers eligible for NSTC funding
Only academic partnerships are permitted; industry or non-profit partners are excluded
Applicants are limited to one LOI/application as principal investigator or co-applicant
Canadian PI submits to NSERC; Taiwanese PI must simultaneously submit via NSTC online system
Failure to submit through NSTC system by deadlines renders proposal ineligible
Each Taiwanese PI is limited to one application as PI (co-PI roles unrestricted)
No appeal mechanism exists for this call
