Postdoc.Mobility fellowships are aimed at researchers who have done a doctorate and who wish to conduct a research stay abroad. The objective is to enable them to acquire more in-depth knowledge, extend their scientific network and independence, and enhance their research profile in view of a future scientific or academic career in Switzerland. The fellowships include a grant for subsistence costs, a flat-rate for travel expenses, and a possible contribution to research and conference costs.

Applicants must have a completed doctorate (PhD, MD-PhD) or completed medical studies with a doctorate, or be within 6 months of completing their doctorate. Submission must be within 3 years of the doctoral exam (or up to 8 years for medical researchers without MD-PhD with at least 3 years of clinical activity). Applicants must be Swiss nationals, holders of a Swiss C-permit, married to a Swiss national, or in a registered partnership with a Swiss national. Non-Swiss applicants without these ties may be admitted if they conducted doctoral studies at a Swiss higher education institution or obtained their state examination in Switzerland, and had not held a postdoctoral position abroad prior to the submission deadline.

Kvalifikasjonskriterier

Completed doctorate (PhD, MD-PhD) or completed medical studies in human, dental, veterinary, social or preventive medicine with a doctorate (MD), or completion of the doctorate within the next 6 months.
Submission up to 3 years after the doctoral exam (PhD, MD-PhD); the date of the examination or defence of the doctoral thesis is the relevant date.
Medical researchers without MD-PhD: submission up to 8 years after the state examination and at least 3 years of clinical activity after the state examination.
Swiss nationality, holder of Swiss permanent settlement permit (C-permit), married to a Swiss national or co-habiting with a Swiss national in a registered partnership. The C-permit should either be valid at the submission deadline or have expired no more than 6 months before the submission deadline.
Applicants who are not Swiss, do not have a Swiss permanent settlement permit, are not married to or in a registered partnership with a Swiss national may nevertheless be admitted, provided that they are conducting or have conducted their doctoral studies (PhD, MD) at a Swiss higher education institution, or that they obtained their state examination in Switzerland, and had not held a postdoctoral position abroad prior to the submission deadline.
