APEX (Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, and Royal Society Partnership) Awards support interdisciplinary research projects spanning the remits of at least two of the three partner Academies (Royal Society, British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering). The scheme funds established independent researchers at UK universities or non-profit research institutions pursuing curiosity-driven research that crosses disciplinary boundaries.
