Farm Sustainability Payment (FSP)
The Farm Sustainability Payment (FSP) is a new support scheme for Northern Ireland farmers, launching on 1 January 2026, that replaces the current transition payment. It introduces environmental and efficiency standards tied to soil testing, nutrient management, and livestock genetics, with applications opening on 2 March 2026 for the 2026 scheme year. The programme is backed by an annual £332.5 million budget ring-fenced for agri-food, fisheries, and rural development in Northern Ireland.
