AgriGrowth Loan Scheme
The AgriGrowth Loan Scheme is an initiative of the Tasmanian Government providing low interest loans to Tasmanian farm businesses and agri-food businesses. It supports projects that advance the government's Agrivision 2050 plan which aims to increase the value of the agriculture and agri-food sectors in Tasmania. The loan scheme will provide loans ranging from $100,000 to $3 million to fund projects that otherwise could not be brought forward and/or financed under normal banking arrangements.
Who can apply
Tasmanian Farm Businesses or Agri-food Businesses. Farm Business: involved in agriculture, horticulture, pastoral, apiculture, aquaculture, or agri-tourism. Agri-food Business: transforms, packages or value-adds primary products for human consumption; employs ≤35 FTEs; annual turnover ≤$5 million. Applicants must operate as sole trader, trust, partnership or private company; demonstrate loan need; provide a 3-year business plan; show financial viability; be registered for tax in Australia with ABN and GST.Perks & benefits
- Young Farmer Support Package: waiver of loan establishment fees, capping of documentation fees to $500, enhanced concessional interest rates first two years, unsecured or partially secured loans up to $250,000, other non-freehold assets considered
