The Ramanujan Fellowship is intended for brilliant Indian/Indian-origin scientists and engineers from all over the world to take up scientific research positions in India. It supports researchers working in frontier areas of science and technology. The fellowship provides comprehensive funding including a consolidated monthly stipend, annual research grant, and institutional overhead charges for a period of 5 years.

Who can apply

Indian and Indian-origin scientists and engineers working abroad who are under 40 years old and wish to return to India to pursue research in frontier areas of science and technology. Candidates must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent and must not currently hold any permanent position in India.
