Australia–India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) Early- and Mid-Career Fellowships

Round 6 of the AISRF Early- and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR) Fellowships supports Australian researchers to undertake one to three month collaborative research visits with leading Indian institutions. Each fellowship provides up to A$17,500 for travel and living costs to strengthen Australia–India science partnerships.

Who can apply

Australian citizen or permanent resident based in Australia, employed at an eligible Australian research organisation, PhD awarded no more than 15 years prior to application deadline, with project focused on genuine collaboration with an Indian research partner.

Eligibility criteria

Applicant must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident based in Australia (including Special Category Visa, Subclass 444) at time of application.
Applicant must be living in Australia at both time of application and time of travel.
Applicant must be employed as a researcher at an eligible Australian research organisation.
Applicant must have a PhD awarded no more than 15 years prior to the grant application deadline.
Projects must be a genuine collaboration between an Australian EMCR and an Indian research partner employed at a research organisation located in India.
Projects must focus on substantial research activity; the primary purpose cannot be attendance at a conference.
