BELCOO

Financial support for transregional R&D projects involving enterprises from Flanders, Wallonia and/or Brussels. Open to both SMEs and large enterprises for joint research or development projects with partners from other Belgian regions. Applications are continuous but no new projects can be funded in 2026.

Who can apply

At least two enterprises from two different Belgian regions; Brussels enterprises must have activities in Brussels-Capital Region and show positive impact on the region; no partner exceeds 70% of project budget; each enterprise performs R&D tasks with technical risk; research institutions can participate as subcontractors (in Brussels as third partner if a Brussels company is present).

Eligibility criteria

At least two enterprises from two different Belgian regions.
No partner exceeds 70% of total project budget.
Each participating enterprise performs R&D tasks with clear technical risk and participates in economic results.
Research institutions can participate as subcontractors in Flanders and Wallonia; in Brussels as third partner only if at least one Brussels company is present.
Brussels enterprises must develop all or part of their activities in Brussels-Capital Region.
Brussels enterprise project must have favourable impact on economy, employment or sustainable development in Brussels-Capital Region.
Company must have fulfilled obligations under previous grants and demonstrate ability to fund its share.
