This is a joint transnational call for research projects in the fields of materials science and engineering, with funding provided by the South African Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI). Eligible South African researchers from universities, research institutions, SMEs, and large enterprises can receive up to 90% co-investment for projects lasting up to 36 months.

Who can apply

Open to working researchers residing in South Africa and affiliated with a recognised higher education or research institution, SME, large enterprise, or NSI organisation involved in R&D. It is obligatory for lead researchers at historically advantaged institutions to include a partner from a historically disadvantaged institution (HDI).
