The EIC Accelerator Challenge 'Boosting the European Critical Raw Materials value chain' 2026 supports deep-tech innovations that secure EU supply chains for critical and strategic raw materials. It focuses on exploration (AI/big data, remote sensing, precision drilling), extraction/processing (advanced metallurgy, bioleaching, electrified autonomous mining), and recycling technologies (battery black mass, e-waste recovery). Deep-sea mining is excluded. The challenge is part of the €220 million EIC Accelerator Challenges budget under Horizon Europe.

Who can apply

Open to EU and associated country SMEs and startups developing deep-tech innovations for critical raw materials. UK applicants eligible for grant-only. TRL 6-8.
