Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance Fellowship
The India Alliance offers four Fellowship schemes to basic biomedical scientists, clinicians, public health researchers and veterinarians who wish to pursue academic research in India. The alliance between Wellcome Trust (UK) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, aims at promoting biomedical research in India through funding and engagement.
Who can apply
Researchers at different career stages; no restrictions on age or nationality for most schemes. Research Training Fellowships for Clinicians: Indian nationals residing in India only. Basic Biomedical: Early Career (0-4 years post-PhD, final-year PhD eligible), Intermediate/Senior (4-15 years post-PhD). Clinical/Public Health: final-year MD/MS/MPH or up to 15 years post-MD/MS/MPH; no PhD required. Margdarshi: normally 10+ years running independent lab.Perks & benefits
